So this is a thread for lenses that you can mount on a camera using an adapter, right? Like a FD > EF adapter or a M42 > EF adapter? Etc?

Before I picked up my Lumix 35 mm f1.8 for my Panasonic S5, I really enjoyed the little EF40 mm pancake on a Viltrox adapter. I thought it was better on the S5 than it was on my 6D. Lack of AA for perhaps? It has a bit of a special "look" to the images

It was easy, the Viltrox EF-L adapter had electrical contacts. So just like a native lens. AF is a bit slower, but the EF 40mm pancake was hardly a speed demon anyway

So, I was thinking that maybe this forum is not the right place for this thread. The Gear and Tech Hub are really more for discussions of gear and tech stuff, not for sharing images.

Now I have been thinking of creating a new forum that was like the Lens Archive Forum on POTN. The other forum also has it, I think it's even named the same. We could call it something like The Lens Showcase Forum. Or: The Showcase Your Lenses Forum. I'm trying to be creative here! Or just: Showcase Your Lenses. Anyway, something like that.

Because these images shouldn't be tucked away in a gear forum. I want them more prominently on the board.

What do you think? Just a general Lens Showcase forum. For all brands. A thread like this, for adapted lenses on any camera, would fit right in. Plus it would be a place for non-subject related images. What do you think?

Good idea, I think. On the other forums I found the dedicated lens threads both interesting and instructive; I used them to inform my purchases. If I ever go mirrorless I will be searching out similar threads. I have hesitated to suggest such a forum here because I'm not sure whether we have enough users, but some members seem to have a lot of lenses, so maybe it would be worthwhile.

Sure, we can post pics in the Gear and Tech Hub but it’s not really suited for photo sharing, so a lens archive forum in the photo sharing section makes more sense. The pictures would then also be mirrored in the gallery. Except we can’t call it “lens archive forum” as that name has been taken. So I’m thinking of a name like: Lens Showcase Forum.

This thread is somewhat akin to shooting fish in a barrel - although I've never tried that - as ALL the colour photos I've posted here so far have been taken with adapted lenses on a Sony a7r2, mainly OM lenses. My first SLR was an ExaIIB, replaced by and Exakta Varex IIB two years later in 1967. The "top" standard lens at that time was the 50mm Zeiss Pancolar f/2, which I couldn't afford. I did get one many years later and this is a test I ran on it wide open, and against the light. The first is the full frame, the second a crop from that frame. Hand held.
