first thing i thought of was these water rockets from the 60s and 70s.

fill the rocket with water. put it on the pump and compress the air against the water. hit the release and they soar away...

I had a similar hobby more than 60 years ago. At university and for about two years after graduation, I was involved in rocket modeling, participating in army-wide and several civilian competitions. But then I had children and turned my attention to other things.

just as i was getting out of the Air Force, the Globemaster III was entering the inventory. they were supposed to come to Oklahoma first (where all the aircrew training for the C-5 and C-141 was conducted) but the first in service went to Charleston South Carolina.

i did a LOT of briefing material and presentations to visiting dignitaries and local business people, about this plane.
