I like this building!

Building

It’s the midpoint of our recycling centre , surrounded by skips and tips - so it’s the right and functional building for the space! I’ll try to get a shot from the other side next time.

The land is basically an island between two motorways and their junction.

You can also just see the old water tower in the background - still a water tower but now with student / youth flats built on it (like fungi?)

(The rusty iron looks seems very popular these days.)

Whereas this thing landed from weirdest outer space on the harbour front in 2018. Officially called BLOX, unofficially BoLLOX, it is the recently new home of the Danish Architecture Centre. Not necessarily a bad building, but doesn’t suit the location in my opinion. ( Designed by Dutch architects OMA which was also kind of strange! ) Most of the best spaces and views are also given to private customers or businesses which seems wrong for a primarily public area.

The former headquarters of the Sick and Indigent Roomkeepers' Society in Dublin, Ireland. Situated on one of the city's shortest streets just outside the gates of Dublin Castle, it is a famous local landmark known for its distinct pink facade and deeply incised lettering.

This is the 3Olympia Theatre on Dame Street, a prominent Victorian venue in Dublin that originally opened in 1879 as the Star of Erin Music Hall. It went through several name changes before becoming the Olympia Theatre in 1923, and was more recently rebranded to 3Olympia following a sponsorship deal in 2021. The building is well known for its cast-iron and glass canopy, which was added in the 1890s and carefully restored after being damaged in 2004. Over the years, the theatre has hosted a wide range of performers, from Charlie Chaplin and Laurel and Hardy to modern acts like David Bowie and Adele.
