JEEZ there needs to be a better way

Everybody, I have moved Dave's photos from the NYFW and the comments to Dave's existing thread in the People forum. That thread has been renamed and is now an open thread for Fashion photography. It's here.

Miss Margie turned 98 today. So I had to take a couple of photos. I've posted pictures of Margie before here, some from Halloween. She's quite the character. She had a stroke about two weeks ago, spent some time in the hospital, but is now back home. She missed her Chicken Foot Mondays.

Playing her favorite game (Chicken Foot) with her favorite people.

I remember her from your other photos. 98 y/o, wow. And then having a stroke and going to a birthday party two weeks later?

Happy birthday to miss Margie!

Some of my wife's family threw a baby shower today. They asked me to take a few pictures. Here's some.

I was taking pics of the decorations and saw how my wife's cousin's husband was framed by the balloons in the foreground. I thought it was neat, your mileage may vary. I sure need a faster lens than the kit 28-50 I have.

Same idea with my wife's cousin.

Guest of honor. She's carrying twin boys, not due to May. Not sure how she's gonna last that long. A bit fuzzy, I was having to use slow shutter speeds.

While cleaning in the Community Center yesterday I found an old Fuji QuickSnap disposable camera. Film expiration date was Aug 2017. It had six frames left on the roll, so I used them up and developed it last night. A few came out pretty good, but very grainy. Fujifilm 800 ISO. I posted them on the facebook page, maybe someone will want the negatives.

Two that I took:

The rest were already on the film.

I had to go to the vampires again today and decided to go home via the park. Took the camera with me and was rewarded with a Chiffchaff and a Jay. I consider that a good day!

i was about to ask, if you had your previous test results back. you said 10 days or so, but i forgot until last night...

looked up what a Chiffchaff is. the image on wiki was pretty low contrast. it said theyre greenish-gray on top and off-white on bottom. the image looked almost all the same. hope you got some good shots of a male with the deeper colors.

we used to have bluejays all over the place here where i live. the crows (bigger black birds? maybe something else than a crow?) have driven them away. a buddy still has a couple in his neighborhood, i see occasionally

Yes, the osteoporosis is a bit more advanced than the last scan a few year ago, but not alarmingly so, except for one hip. I am now going to get special PT to prevent further loss of bone density.

Do men get osteoporosis? I'm guessing no or hardly.

im sure we do, but i think since men typically have heavier, denser bone mass, they can handle it better than women. the whole physiological make up between the two sexes, and change of life stuff, im sure takes a bigger toll. my mom's was so bad that getting a half gallon of milk out of the refrigerator, was enough to fracture a vertabrae. my grandmother had it pretty bad and my sister does as well but i dont think hers is as bad as my moms/grandmas.

i worked with a guy years ago, who could hardly walk. had a hip replaced at age 50 over Christmas shutdown and came back after the first of the year doing an Irish Jig. i dont think it was osteoporosis as much as it was arthritis, and just physical wear and tear of being an electrician climbing ladders, getting down in trenches and what not.

didnt know if i should include this in the "what happened to me today" thread or not. it DID take place today...

looked and looked for my P/S to take to the dentist with me in case i saw something interesting along the way. i spent a couple of hours looking on tables, desks, kitchen counters, under the stack of mail i brought in. looked in the cars thinking it might have been left in one of them from Sunday.

finally found it. in my camera bag with the DSLR.
