2026 What happened to me today!

Got up.
Got dressed.
Got seated.
Got here.

Yesterday was busier. The weather was actually bright and dry, so we made the trip into Brighton we didn't make the day before. Started at the Open Market - 1/3 closed, including the book stall I went for. Down the road and had tea and cake, then on to a film lab that sells cameras. Saw a number roll film range finder cameras, too big and heavy for me. A 10x8 view camera is my limit. :)

Then a visit to the Toy Museum - toys and mechanical bits and bobs (train sets). They had some toys I used to have, and one I still do. Then down a few shopping streets. Bought a new pencil, propelling type, but uses the same leads as ones I've used for over 50 years. Smaller though. A bottle of green fountain pen ink at another shop. It's an old habit of mine to reduce reprints of documents I'm writing. First draft is a clean print; first amendments in black ink and corrections made. Next read through, corrections made in red. Finally green and then another print. A habit I acquired when paper was expensive - at least, expensive compared to what I could afford.

Then a visit to a photoshop and bought a magnetic wooden print frame. Basically, 4 wooden bars with magnets, 2 bars stuck to the top and 2 to the bottom of the print to hang it. Finally, a visit to a bookshop where I bought a biography of Martin Luther (the 16th C reformer). I've read several biographies of him over the years. One of his books revolutionised - or perhaps I should say reformed - my theological views. It also showed me how to really reason a case logically and thoroughly. A lesson never forgotten since I read it in 1969.

What happened to me today is finding out that Google has begun indexing us! I hardly dare say it out loud, but it is.

I was too scared to check myself but Mike sent me a Google search link and almost overnight we went from just one page indexed to 12 pages of search results!
